Eye Bag Removal

Eye bags refer to the swelling of the tissues around the eyes. They are commonly caused by the thinning of the skin that will reveal the existing fats and muscle around the eye. Factors such as lack of sleep, tobacco, alcohol and ageing contribute to the appearance of eye bags.

There are many ways to reduce eye bags and dark circles from the face. Some of the non-surgical eye bag treatment choices available are dermal fillers, HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) and laser eye bag removal resurfacing methods.

An eye bag removal surgery can reduce the puffiness and dark circles, making you look younger, refreshed and alert.
The surgery involves the removal of excess fat from the lower eyelids to reinforce the surrounding muscles and tendons and rejuvenate the skin. It can be done through the outer or inner eyelid, depending on your surgeon’s recommendation.

Please be informed that there are local regulations and aesthetics guidelines in Malaysia that stipulate who, what and where an eye bag removal procedure can be and cannot be done. While you may wish to ignore the guidelines but do bear in mind that the guidelines were designed and developed to protect consumers due to the many complaints by unaware consumers. Therefore, only trained and qualified medical professionals are authorised to perform an eye bag removal procedure.

Eye Bag Removal Cost

While the most expensive surgeon may not necessarily be "the best", there also may be reasons for a surgeon to charge a relatively lower fees. If you are "shopping" by phone for the "best deal" in plastic surgery, beware of "low-balling". The low-balling technique is a persuasion tactic in which an item is initially offered at a lower price than one expects in order to get the buyer to commit; then the price is suddenly increased.

Make sure you know what you are quoted; a surgeon’s fee vs. the TOTAL fee for the procedure. The total fee is higher since it would include the surgeon’s fee, the minor operating room cost and also the necessary follow up visit/s. In general, the costs for each procedure are a general range for the surgeon's fee and the hospital / surgical center facility fee. Be aware that operations done in a normal clinic may be cheaper as opposed to procedures done in a proper ambulatory care centre. However, the risk of infection will be higher if the eye bag removal is done in a less sterile environment.
